New to town
My husband and I moved to Oregon when we retired to be near our son and daughter-in-law. We arrived in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.
I was searching for a way to meet women in a low pressure, casual setting. The Sandy Women’s book club was meeting monthly via ZOOM at that time so I gave it a shot. It was the best thing I could have done. Meeting once a month to discuss a book we have all read is something I still look forward to 3 years later. Now we meet at the library but still offer ZOOM for those who can’t make it in.
We are a great group of easy going people who enjoy each other and always welcome a newcomer. Our age range is from 20’s to 80’s and everyone’s opinion is welcomed.
My husband also enjoys the library and checks out books or downloads one to his iPad. He reads every day now.
I am so thankful to the Sandy Library for providing these opportunities for us. The library should be your first stop when you move to a new town!
